Pulp & Beyond Conference takes place on Tuesday, April 9 2024. It is part of Pulp & Beyond, the largest international event for the forest industry, which will be held from Wednesday, April 10-11 2024 at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre. On Friday, April 12th, there will be trips for professionals in Central Finland and university students in Stockholm.
Michael Carus will be the first panelist to discuss the role of wood within the concept of renewable carbon. Tiina Pursula will give insights on the responsibility of forest companies, while Lyndsey Parette will be sharing the brand owner's perspective. Andre Noel Chaker will moderate the panel.
The conference program will be divided after the opening into three tracks, including presentations by top experts. Each track will include multiple presentations on three different perspectives and themes.
Three themes are included in the track devoted to innovative wood-based product. The theme "New Cellulose Based Textiles Changing the Fashion Business", explores the challenges and opportunities of cellulose-based fibers. It also examines how consumers perceive the difference between wood fibers and recycled plastic.
The theme of "Creating New Innovative Products from Wood and Process Side Streams", discusses wood as a versatile material with many opportunities, the long-term development of lignin applications, sustainable battery materials made from lignin and microfibrillated cellulose.
