Madrid Arena is an indoor arena that can be found in Madrid's fairgrounds at the Casa de Campo. It is located just minutes from the city center. The pavilion was built from the Rocodromo and was designed by Spanish architects Estudio Lasso. This versatile building can host many events including commercial, cultural, leisure, and sporting events. Telefonica sponsored the pavilion for its Telefonica Arena.

It was constructed as part of the infrastructure for the Madrid 2012 Olympic bid. It was intended to host basketball competitions. It was completed in 2002. The second phase was added the next year.

It is distributed on three floors (access, intermediate and low). Its central court has three retractable bleachers, allowing the surface to change depending on the type of event.[1]

It also has a Satellite Pavilion [2] measuring 2,100m2. This pavilion was home to the Mutua Madrilena Masters Madrid men’s tennis tournament until Caja Magica opened. The maximum capacity is 12,000.

It is currently owned by Madrid Destino municipal company, which has replaced Madridec. [4]

It has a maximum capacity of 10,248 spectators for basketball and 12,000 for boxing and 30,000 m². Its dome is 11,000 m² and is supported by a three-dimensional structure supported on 181 piles. It has a skylight that can be opened, letting in natural light. The facade is composed of a double curve of glass, very light and variable transparency.
