Hong Kong International Tea Fair

in Asia, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Tea Fair this year gathers more than 240 exhibitors from different countries and regions to present a wide range of test and tea-related products and services. The fair features group pavilions representing various provinces on the Chinese mainland such as Fujian, human, Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Shaanxi; as well as India, Japan, and Sri Lanka. Taiwan is also setting up a group pavilion at the fair for the first time.

 

A series of activities were held to promote tea culture

A series of activities were held to promote tea culture. Representatives from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other regions competed for the KamCha title. Combining technology and traditional skills, an artificial intelligence (AI) robotic arm gave brewing demonstrations on the spot. The International Yuan Yang Final was staged as well, with local participants competing for the winning title. Another highlighted event was the Hong Kong International Tea Competition which exhibitors competed for various awards including “The Best Aroma Award” and “The Best Taste Award” among seven tea categories. Visitors could also enjoy a free taste of the winning teas on a public day. Other activities included a series of tea forums delivered by industry experts on topics such as antique teaware, cooking with tea, as well as “Tea and Zen” (featuring renowned tea expert Chang Lin). Events organized for trade buyers included tea tasting sessions, tea-art performances, a seminar on “Capturing the Tea Business from the ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ Generation” as well as a buyer forum.
