Spanish Housing & Flexible Living Models 2026

From November 11, 2026 until November 11, 2026
(Please double-check the dates and location on the organizer below before attending.)

Spanish Housing & Flexible Living Models is a closed-door GRI Institute roundtable that brings together senior real estate leaders to examine how affordability and flexibility are driving Spain's next housing cycle, and where innovation, capital and policy can align to unlock scalable, long-term solutions. Housing has become one of Spain's most urgent structural challenges: affordability pressures, demographic shifts and evolving lifestyle patterns are transforming how people access and experience living spaces. At the same time, new formats such as flex living, co-living and other flexible models are reshaping the residential landscape, blending social purpose with institutional opportunities.

The Flex Living in Spain discussion covers demand versus product, asking which flex living models are proving most resilient and where demand genuinely outperforms traditional residential; structuring the deal, comparing lease, management agreement, joint venture and operating platform structures that investors are backing today; legal and regulatory challenges, examining how planning rules, licensing and local regulation are shaping investment decisions across Spanish cities; and the next wave of transactions, identifying the assets, portfolios and operating platforms likely to drive deal activity over the next 12 to 24 months.

The roundtable is scheduled for 11 November 2026, running from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST, and is co-hosted by CMS at the CMS Office Madrid, Paseo de Recoletos 7-9, 28004 Madrid. The programme runs from 10:00 to 10:30 for welcome and registration, from 10:30 to 11:30 for the discussion and from 11:30 to 12:00 for the closing farewell. The session is moderated by Javier Colino, Global Head of Hospitality, Travel and Leisure at CMS, together with Alvaro Otero, Partner and Head of Real Estate Law at CMS, and features Antonio Rodriguez Herrera of Momentum Reim, Carlos Zucchi of ARGIS, Irene Pfeiffer of Nido Living, Joaquin Linares of Santander Asset Management and Jose Torres of Barings Real Estate.

The event is part of a wider GRI Institute Spanish real estate programme for 2026, alongside the Espana GRI 2026 conference in Madrid on 29 and 30 April and the Repositioning Hospitality in Spain's Urban Transformation roundtable in Madrid on 29 October. Attendance at GRI Institute events is restricted to members, and participation is by invitation and registration only.
