Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global in Barcelona (21‑23 April 2026) set a record with over 35,000 industry professionals and 2,244 exhibitors from 87 countries occupying 51,248 m². The show highlighted a broad spectrum of seafood products—fresh, frozen, canned, value‑added and packaged—including novelty items such as salmon candy, shrimp lollipops, fish chips, pickled wakame and spreads. Processing exhibitors presented equipment and services for packaging, refrigeration/freezing, primary and secondary processing, hygiene control, sanitation and quality assurance, with a notable rise in aquaculture technology providers. The Key Buyer program attracted major retailers and foodservice groups (e.g., Aldi, Costco, Lidl, Metro, Sysco, IKEA, HelloFresh). A three‑day conference addressed sustainability, aquaculture, labor issues, AI and traceability. The Seafood Excellence Global Awards recognized top products, with Parcs Saint Kerber winning Best Retail Product and Algolesko winning Best HORECA product. New initiatives included the Aquaculture Innovation Zone, a “Connecting Women in Seafood” networking event, and a partnership with Barcelona Food Bank for seafood donations.
