Institute of Linguistics, Russian Academy of Sciences Linguistic Forum 2026
The Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences comprises numerous research departments covering major language families and sub‑fields: African, Applied, Asian and East Asian, Caucasian, experimental speech, Indo‑European (with Anatolian, Celtic, Germanic, Iranian, Romance sections), minority language preservation, multichannel communication, national linguistic relations, language revitalization, theoretical linguistics, typology and areal linguistics, Ural‑Altaic (Finno‑Ugric group), and theory‑practice of communication. It hosts laboratories for minority language study, multichannel communication, and a research centre for national linguistic relations. The institute organises conferences, seminars and workshops, notably the 12th “Language issues: a young scholars’ perspective” conference (2–3 April 2026), the Moscow LFG Meeting, and international conferences on signed languages and digital lexicography. It also maintains a photo archive, contests, publications, and educational activities, serving scholars, students, and the broader linguistic community.
