American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition 2027
American Library Association Annual Conference and Exhibition 2027
The ALA Annual Conference and Exhibition is the American Library Association's flagship annual meeting and trade show for the library community. The 2027 edition takes place 24-28 June 2027 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is organised by the American Library Association.
The conference combines professional development with a large exhibition: education programs and poster sessions cover collections, digital services, literacy, intellectual freedom, funding and advocacy, while the exhibit floor brings together publishers, library-technology vendors, furniture and shelving suppliers, subscription agents and service providers. Authors, illustrators and publishing professionals take part in signings, panels and the conference's book and media award programming.
An open call for proposals for 2027 education programs and posters opened on 24 August 2026 and closed on 21 September 2026, with separate submission guides and evaluation rubrics published by ALA. Registration, the preliminary program and exhibitor information for the 2027 edition are published on the official conference site as they are released.
The series is the largest regular gathering of the profession in the United States: the 2025 edition in Philadelphia drew 14,250 participants, including librarians and library staff, authors, publishers, exhibitors and library supporters.
