The Russian authorities have cancelled MAKS Moscow for the second consecutive year, and shifted the event to 2025.
Aviasalon has officially announced that this year's show "will not take place" due to a government decision.
The postponement is due to "the need to comply with extra security measures" in military areas that could "inconvenience participants and attendees".
The Russian Air Force was concerned about diverting resources, so the postponement was made.
Every two years, MAKS is held on the Ramenskoye Airfield.
The 2023 event, the first after the Ukrainian conflict started, was cancelled with the intention to hold it this year.
Aviasalon argues that the Russian Air Force's personnel and technical resources are better spent on its "main missions" than diverted to the show.
The 16th edition is "scheduled" for summer 2025.
Aviasalon says that they are working with potential partners and exhibitors, and maintaining the infrastructure of the event is a priority.
