MTM Expo grew out of the Shanghai International Metallurgy Industry Exhibition, founded in 1986. In 2026 the show marks its 40th anniversary as a steel and metallurgical industry platform in China.
The 2026 edition is jointly organized by industry bodies including Baoshan Iron & Steel Group, the All-China Federation of Metallurgical Chambers, and the China Refractories Industry Association. Eight thematic sections cover metallurgy, refractories, casting & forging, industrial furnaces & thermal engineering, steel pipe, metal wire, titanium/magnesium/copper, and alloy materials.
Organizer forecast: 40,000+ m², about 1,000 exhibitors, and about 40,000 professional visitors. Concurrent programmes include the 2026 Steel Industry Ecological Development Forum, the 5th China Refractories Development Forum, and the 5th Development and Application of Steel Tube Industry Conference (DASTIC).
