The 71st Annual DeKalb County V.F.W. Fair in Fort Payne, AL runs from October 16‑24, 2026 with the theme “Happy 250th Birthday, America!” Competitions open Oct 10‑11 for non‑perishables (art, photography, LEGO, handicrafts, needlework) and perishables (agriculture, baking, canning, flowers). Booths for schools, clubs, scouts and homemakers are built Oct 7‑11, with a deadline of Oct 11 3 pm; scarecrow entries must be pre‑registered by Sep 30 and on‑site by Oct 6. Judging occurs Oct 12.
