The Chinese government announced on June 9 that Beijing will host the first China International Supply Chain Expo from November 28 to Dec 2, 2023.
Global Times reports that 100 companies have registered for the event. The U.S. multinationals confirmed to attend the event are expected to make up the largest contingent of foreign companies.
Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the organizer of the expo, said during a press conference on June 9, that the conference would focus on five main supply chains, including smart vehicles and green agriculture.
"The U.S. firms I speak with are very pragmatic, and they are eager to take advantage of this rare opportunity. After three years of disruption caused by COVID, many U.S. companies said they needed to restructure global supply chains. It was impossible to ignore Chinese markets or Chinese companies during this process. It also proves that the expo is just in time," said Lin Shunjie. He is the chairman of China International Exhibition Center Group.
