Hanover was founded in 1727 - a little more than 100 years after Plymouth, which is 17 miles south. Over the years we have kept our "country-town" feel, but added conveniences like shopping malls, light industries, and technology.

Hanover Day is set for the weekend of June 21-22, 2020. Come join us for an exciting weekend. Carnival, food trucks and road races, 3-on-3 basketball, juried art shows, battles of the bands, classic cars, vendor craft fairs, etc. Enjoy the fun with your family!
Hanover Day is organized by the Hanover Cultural Council. Hanover Day is funded by the Cultural Council through private donations, and previous events that HCC sponsored. McGee Toyota has generously donated money to fund the fireworks display for Hanover residents from 2013 until 2024. Hanover Day FAQs and more information about the event can be found here.

The Hanover Police Department is looking forward to the annual Hanover Day Celebration on Saturday, 22nd June 2024. To ensure everyone's safety, we will enforce strict parking restrictions along Hanover Street and assist pedestrians at the crosswalks. Please use these crosswalks, and be aware of the large number of pedestrians in the area. Please drive slowly.
