HSE Art and Design School Launches Fashion Design Track in St Petersburg
Starting from 2024, applicants to the HSE Art and Design School in St Petersburg can choose a new Fashion Design track, unique to the city's fashion industry. The programme has already been successfully tested on the Moscow campus.
Programme Structure
- Year 1: Basics of modern fashion design, sourcing references, themes, concepts; developing observation and taste
- Year 2: Work with historical costumes, cultural and social phenomena, in-depth visual research
- Year 3: Design within the fashion industry, creating capsule and runway collections for a collective brand
- Year 4: Original clothing collection (minimum seven looks), lookbook shoot, model demonstration
Curator
Leonid Alexeev, founder of the House of Leo brand, developer of clothing lines for Russian national brands, participant in international and Russian fashion weeks, and costume designer for plays and films.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can work as:
- Clothing and accessory designers
- Stylists
- Costume, textile, and print designers
Collaboration Opportunities
Students can join large-scale projects with fashion houses, famous designers, industries, and factories. Past collaborations include MBFW Russia, Russian Creative Week, Dior training programmes, and partnerships with Uniqlo, Lamoda, Mezzatorre, and Albione.
