Authentic Cuba Travel for the Annual Fire Festival 2026
The Authentic Cuba Travel® tour runs July 2‑9, 2026, immersing participants in Santiago de Cuba’s Fire Festival (Festival del Fuego). Core activities include daily parades – the Opening Snake Parade, the Fire Parade with a Congo ritual and Mpaka presentation, and the ceremonial Burning of the Devil. Cultural programming features the International Colloquium "The Caribbean that Unites Us," the Casa del Caribe Award ceremony, press briefings, and the Del Caribe magazine launch. Heritage visits cover San Pedro de la Roca (Castillo del Morro), the Basilica of Our Lady of Charity in El Cobre, San Pedro Morro Castle, and Santa Ifigenia Cemetery. Community‑engagement projects support Cuban civil society: El Cobre Youth Steel Band, Suenos y Fantasia children’s art project, and the independent publisher Promociones Literarias Claustrofobias. Performances include Tumba Francesa by UNESCO‑recognized societies and local music showcases across 50 festival venues. The itinerary also includes a ferry to Cayo Granma, a day trip to Guantánamo (including a Tumba Francesa and changüí music session), and guided tours of art galleries, ceramic studios, and historic neighborhoods. Accommodation is a 4‑star hotel or luxury casa particular, with 11 meals, air‑conditioned coach transport, and an English‑speaking guide, all under the US General License for Support for the Cuban People.
