Dickens On The Strand 2026
Dickens on The Strand is a three‑day, Victorian‑London‑themed festival held the first weekend of December in Galveston. The event features parades, nonstop entertainment across four stages, and new attractions such as Tiny Tim’s Play Land and a Shopkeeper Skills Village. Costumed vendors line street stalls and rolling carts, offering holiday foods, Victorian‑style crafts, clothing, jewelry, decorations and gift items. Roaming characters and live performances create an immersive 19th‑century atmosphere. The festival provides special‑needs accessibility assistance, while prohibiting pets, ice chests, wheeled devices and unsecured costume weapons. In addition to the main festival, Galveston’s cultural calendar includes the Juneteenth exhibit “And Still We Rise…”, the historic seaport with the 1877 tall ship ELISSA, the 1892 Bishop’s Palace, architectural salvage warehouse, historic harbor tours, immigration experience exhibits, concerts, historic homes tours, Tall Ships® events, and preservation programs.
