The 42nd annual MMGS Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show, presented by the Maine Mineralogical & Geological Society (MMGS), is the largest mineral, gem and jewelry show in Southern Maine. The 2027 edition runs Saturday, April 17, 2027 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, April 18, 2027 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Brick South on Thompson's Point in Portland, Maine. More than 50 dealers fill roughly 180 tables with mineral specimens, fossils, gems, beads, jewelry, lapidary and crafting supplies and healing crystals, alongside a walk-in fluorescent mineral display under ultraviolet light. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for teens and seniors, and free for children under 12. Brick South sits just off Exit 5 on Interstate 295, a short walk from Amtrak's Portland Downeaster station and served by Portland METRO bus; limited free parking is available on the Brick South campus. The show forms part of the club's year-round program of monthly public meetings, field trips and teaching resources in mineralogy, lapidary arts and the earth sciences.
