Jane Austen Festival OverviewThe Jane Austen Festival is the longest-running and largest Jane Austen Festival worldwide. The Jane Austen Festival is the largest and longest running Jane Austen Festival. It began in 2001 with a weekend-long event at The Jane Austen Centre in Bath. Since 2004, the festival has grown to a 10-day programme that attracts over 3500 visitors from all over the world. The Regency Costumed Parade has filled the streets of Bath in Regency attire since 2004. This parade holds the Guinness World Record as the "Largest Gathering of People Dressed in Regency Costumes". Georgian Bath is awash with bonnets, drummers and soldiers. The 10 day festival includes events that are inspired by Jane Austen’s timeless works, including guided walks, costumed ball, theatrical performances and talks.
