Welcome to the Savannah Book Festival The Savannah Book Festival will take place from February 6 to 9, 2025. The Savannah Book Festival is an annual, public event that celebrates the written word, its importance in human development, and the role it plays in the world. Our mission is promote reading, writing, and civil discourse. SBF, since the inaugural Savannah Book Festival of 2008, has brought a variety of nationally-acclaimed writers to book-loving crowds through ticketed Headline addresses and our free Festival Saturday.

Our mission is promote reading, writing, and civil discourse. SBF, since the inaugural Savannah Book Festival of 2008, has brought a variety of nationally-acclaimed writers to a crowd of book-loving visitors through our ticketed headline addresses and free Festival Sat.The four-day festival takes place in Savannah’s Historic District, surrounded by stunning historic buildings and Azaleas blooming. Over 9,000 people attend our three Headliner Addresses and free Festival Saturday each year.The Festival Saturday presentations are held in and around historic Telfair Square and Chippewa Squares, located in Downtown Savannah. Our lineup of nationally-recognized authors from wide-ranging genres give 30-minute solo presentations on their creative process, followed by a Q&A and book signing.The 2024 Festival featured the Master of Mystery Ruth Ware as the Opening Address. Jeannette Walls author of The Glass Castle was the Keynote Speaker. Barnes & Noble Author of the Year David Grann delivered the SBF Closing address. The Headliner addresses are ticketed, and presented at the Historic Trustees Theater downtown Savannah.The Headliners will give a 45 minute presentation about their writing process and personal life, followed by Q&As and a book signing.
