The 62nd Annual Festival in the Park is Friday–Sunday, September 25–27, 2026 at Freedom Park in Charlotte, North Carolina (near Dilworth and Myers Park, main entrance on East Boulevard).

  • Saturday, September 26, 2026: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm
  • Sunday, September 27, 2026: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hours are not the same every day (Friday opens at 4:00 pm).

About

Since 1964, Festival in the Park has brought music, art and family programs to Charlotte. Official FAQ describes a three-day outdoor arts and crafts festival with about 180 artists and craft exhibitors and nearly 1,000 entertainers around Freedom Park’s lighted lake. Admission is free. The Festival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, produced with Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation.

Lighting allows the show to continue into the evening. Typical offerings include juried original art and craft booths (minimum $4,000 in art awards), multiple stages of local and regional entertainment, concessions, and a Family Fun Zone (kids’ art area, face painting, and other family activities).

Visitor rules

For safety: no dogs (Charlotte city ordinance during the event), no skateboards, no roller-blading; scooters and bikes must be walked. No outside alcohol; alcohol purchased on site may not leave the Festival (NC ABC).

Parking and access

Main park entrance is on East Blvd (1900 block), a few streets past Cumberland Avenue. Limited cash-only parking at Atrium Health Myers Park across from the Freedom Park entrance ($20 Friday–Sunday). Accessible parking at the Freedom Park lot on East Blvd with a valid NC DMV disability placard or plate. Ride-share drop-off: 2435 Cumberland Avenue or 1600 Princeton Avenue. Be considerate of neighborhood street parking.
