About

MumFest 2026 is an award-winning fall festival in historic downtown New Bern, North Carolina, on 10–11 October 2026. It is produced by Swiss Bear, Inc. in partnership with the City of New Bern and typically draws more than 75,000 visitors.

The festival spans downtown New Bern and the scenic riverfront, with live music, amusements, food vendors, local artists, a beer garden, KidsZone, and nearly 300 vendors and food trucks. Admission is free; amusement rides, games, and food/beverage purchases have separate costs. MumFest is a rain-or-shine event.

Dates and hours

MumFest is held the second weekend of October every year.

  • Saturday 10 October 2026: 10:00–18:30
  • Sunday 11 October 2026: 10:00–17:00
  • Mumosa Fun Run begins 07:30; the 5K begins 08:00

Stages include the North Carolina Education Lottery Music Stage, the Chick-fil-A Community Stage, and the Howard and Friends Stage.

Location and parking

There is no single indoor hall. The footprint covers downtown streets and the riverfront (Union Point Park, Hancock Street, Craven Street, Middle Street, Broad Street, and the beer garden).

Free parking and complimentary shuttles operate from Lawson Creek Park (Pembroke Rd / Country Club Rd exit of Hwy 70): Saturday 08:30–21:30 and Sunday 09:30–17:30. Street parking downtown is extremely limited. ADA-accessible parking is in the lot beside 214 Craven Street (valid placard required).

Visitor notes

Personal pets, coolers, outside alcohol, bikes/scooters/e-vehicles, smoking/vaping, drones, and demonstrations are not permitted in the festival footprint. First aid is on Broad Street; ATMs are on site.
