Sustainable Material Expo | [Held inside] Highly-functional Material Week 2026
Sustainable Material Expo (SUSMA) is the world's leading* exhibition dedicated to sustainable and eco-friendly materials and technologies, held inside Highly-functional Material Week. The Tokyo 2026 edition runs 30 September - 2 October 2026, 10:00-18:00 daily (closes at 17:00 on the final day, JST) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The show comprehensively covers eco-friendly materials such as biodegradable resins and cellulose, and features an extensive showcase of plant-based materials, recycled materials, resources and materials for a circular economy, plant-derived raw materials, and marine plastic solutions. It provides a venue for full-scale business negotiations and business matching aimed at solving the marine plastic problem and realizing a carbon-neutral and carbon-free society. Held twice a year in Osaka and Tokyo, it is one of the seven specialised fairs of Highly-functional Material Week, alongside advanced film, plastics, metal, ceramics, adhesives, and paint and coating. Admission requires registration; free visitor pre-registration is available until 4 September 2026.
