The campus of TU Dortmund University can be found near the interstate junction Dortmund West where the Sauerlandlinie A45 (Frankfurt - Dortmund) crosses the Ruhrschnellweg B1 / A40. The best interstate exit to take from A 45 is "Dortmund-Eichlinghofen" (closer to Campus Sud), and from B 1 / A 40 "Dortmund-Dorstfeld" (closer to Campus Nord). Both exits have signs for the university. There is also a new exit just before the B1 bridge leading to Dortmund.
To get from Campus Nord to Campus Sud by car, there is the connection via Vogelpothsweg/Baroper Strasse. You can park your car at Campus Nord, and then take the H-Bahn to connect the two campuses.
The TU Dortmund University is home to its own train station (Dortmund Universitat). The S-Bahn departs for Dortmund Hauptbahnhof (Dortmund Hauptbahnhof) and Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof via "Dusseldorf Airport Train Station". (Take S-Bahn 1, which leaves every 30 or 20 minutes). From Bochum, Essen and Mulheim an der Ruhr, the university is easy to reach.
The university is also accessible by bus or metro train: Take any of the U41, U45 U47 and U49 trains from Dortmund's main station. You change trains at "Stadtgarten", and take the U42 in the direction of "Hombruch". Watch out for "An der Palmweide". Buses bound for the TU Dortmund University depart every ten minutes from the bus stop across the street (445,447,462). You can also take the U41, U45 U47, and U49 subway lines from Dortmund's main station. Take U43 or U44 from there to "Dortmund Wittener Strasse". Take bus 447 to "Dortmund Universitat S".
