The 2026 CFMS Annual Show & Convention is held in Reno, Nevada, hosted by the Reno Gem and Mineral Society in conjunction with the Jackpot of Gems gem, mineral, jewelry and fossil show.

Dates: Friday–Sunday, 18–20 September 2026.

Venue: Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4590 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502. CFMS notes that the Atlantis is adjacent to the convention center; other lodging is available in Reno.

Public show hours (CFMS tentative Show & Convention Schedule, May 2026; same hours on the host club Jackpot of Gems page). Do not treat CFMS club-shows listing leftover “Fri–Sat 9:00–17:00 / Sun 9:00–16:00” as current:

  • Friday 18 September: 10:00–19:00
  • Saturday 19 September: 10:00–19:00
  • Sunday 20 September: 10:00–17:00

Admission to the public show is free.

Programme highlights: 50+ dealers offering minerals, fossils, crystals, jewelry, lapidary supplies, rough rock, beads, and related items; competitive exhibits judged under AFMS rules; speakers and lapidary demonstrations; fluorescent mineral display; kids’ corner; auctions and door prizes. CFMS convention items on the tentative schedule include a directors’ meeting (Saturday 09:00–noon, Room A10), Cracker Barrel / welcome reception and CFMS silent auction (Friday 19:00, Room A7), and an awards banquet (Saturday, pre-registration required). Thursday 17 September is set-up only and is not open to the public.
