Participants from low-income families are eligible for bursaries.tttOpera Camp - CapriccioRichard Strauss's opera CapriccioTeenagers between the ages of 13 and 16Camp language: German, EnglishRichard Strauss' final opera Capriccio was subtitled 'A Conversation piece for Music'. It was completed in 1941. The young and arts-loving Countess Madeleine is in love with both a poet and composer. They soon become embroiled in a heated argument over two issues. What is more important: musical composition or poetry? What is more important in an opera, the words or music? The audience is asked to make the final decision for Madeleine. It's as difficult as deciding between the two suitors. The young participants will explore Capriccio's libretto and its music by singing, acting and playing in the orchestra.
