We are grateful that you chose the Chicago International Music Festival to be your music performance tour. We understand that you want the best possible performance experience for your group, so we work hard to make that happen.
Our mission is to provide young musicians with an opportunity for musical growth and lasting memories. The festival's performance venue is the Armour Stage at Chicago Symphony Center, downtown Chicago, home to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. The festival admissions are based on audition and are limited to four high schools groups and one showcase university group. As music education via live performance can prove very beneficial for groups at different stages of their development, we encourage applicants from all abilities.
ENSEMBLES: High school, college, and community bands, choirs, and orchestras.
ACCEPTANCE: The Festival will accept only four adjudicated ensembles, and one university/community showcase ensemble. This is to ensure that the festival provides a high quality experience. If a group is denied entry due to festival capacity, they will be granted first priority the next year.
FACULTY: Former choral faculty included Jo Michael Scheibe, University of Southern California; Dr. James Jordan, Rider University; Geoffrey Boers, University of Washington; and Dr. Heather Buchannan, Montclair State University.
