Bangladesh's Food, Process Food & Drink Industry is expected to grow by an encouraging 30%-35% in the next five year. Agro Processing in Bangladesh is valued at USD 2,9 Billion. It has grown at an annual average of 8.7% between fiscal years 2004-2005 to 2010-2011. The food processing industry in Bangladesh will continue to grow due to the rapid growth of the middle class, which now numbers over 30 millions. The contribution of food processing or manufacturing to the Bangladeshi GDP has been largely static since 2004-2005, despite the rapid growth. The growth in the agro-food sector is not at par with Bangladesh's economic growth. This shows that there is still potential for the sector.
