The first Malaysia International Machinery Fair was held at Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with 50 booths. This fair served the local market. MIMF evolved over the years into the Packaging & Food Processing Exhibition, Plastic,Mould & Tools Exhibition, Lighting,LED & Sign Exhibition, Bakery Exhibition, and has become Malaysia's leading trade fair.
MIMF 2022 is moving towards digitalisation in order to better serve the local and international industry players. It will also continue to be a leading platform for showcasing new technologies at the exhibition.
MIMF 2022 is set to continue growing with the help of the industry.
According to the Department of Statistics' findings, Malaysia has over 2,000 companies in the food industry. The majority of these are Small & Medium Enterprises. This sector accounts for around 10% of Malaysian manufacturing output.
In 2019, processed foods contributed RM 21,76 billion, and were exported to over 200 countries. In order to meet the increasing demand of exports, the F&B sector is in need of more machinery and equipment. Malaysia's position as the global leader in HALAL-certified food is a strong support for this.
