In 1994, the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) was founded to support the Government's program to promote entrepreneurship by franchising. MFA's formation was timely in that it promoted the growth of franchising throughout Malaysia.
MFA will be a resource for current and future franchisors, franchisees as well as media and the general public.
Since 1999, MFA has been charged with delivering a series training courses. These are delivered by professional and experienced speakers. The program includes courses for all levels. More than 20 thousand people have benefited from the 400 training sessions.
MFA is the leading franchise organization in Malaysia because it is a member of both the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation and the World Franchise Council. MFA was able to better understand how developed countries operated their franchise industry, and what programs were adequate to meet the demands of the franchise fraternity.
MFA, as the industry leader in Malaysia will continue to work to bring the franchise industry to its highest level. It will also prioritize franchising to be one of the engines of growth for the Malaysian Economy. I hope that MFA, KPDN and other relevant agencies will work together to achieve the vision that was mentioned earlier, for the betterment of the franchise industry in Malaysia.
