The Bangladesh Handicrafts Manufacturers and Exporters Association-BANGLACRAFT was formed in 1979. BANGLACRAFT is the main handicrafts association in Bangladesh. It includes manufacturers, exporters and traders as well as producers, designers, promoters, suppliers, and all other handicrafts. BANGLACRAFT, a non-profit organisation, became a member of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in A class. The Association registered at the Joint Stock Company under the Ministry of Commerce.
Exporting handmade products made from 100% local raw material is a major source of foreign currency. This sector is a source of livelihood for millions of artisans in villages.
