Annual National Shrimp Festival 2026
The 53rd Annual National Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores runs Oct 8‑11 2026. The four‑day event centers on Gulf shrimp prepared in dozens of ways, with 50 local and regional food vendors offering crab cakes, conch fritters, lobster, Cajun pistols, etc. Visitors can enjoy over 100 hours of live music on two stages, featuring blues, Motown, classic rock, jazz, country and more. More than 150 art booths showcase paintings, pottery, jewelry and other crafts, while a Children’s Activity Village provides face‑painting, a bubble truck, airbrush tattoos and other kid‑friendly fun. A sand‑sculpture contest invites families to compete for cash prizes. Runners can join the 5K and 10K races, with proceeds supporting local schools. The festival includes extensive transportation details: road closures, a park‑and‑ride shuttle service with ADA‑accessible stops, and shuttle wristbands whose sales benefit school programs.
