The Bottom of the Barrel Technology Conference (BBTC MENA) is the Middle East's leading technical forum focused on residue upgrading, advanced conversion routes, and cleaner product strategies. The 2027 edition takes place 23–24 March 2027 in the Kingdom of Bahrain (Manama), and runs in conjunction with ME-CAT, the Middle East Catalyst Technology Conference (24–25 March 2027, Bahrain).
As global energy transition timelines recalibrate, bottom-of-the-barrel conversion is regaining strategic significance. The conference brings together regional refiners, licensors, and solution providers to explore next-gen process integration, feedstock innovation, and pathways to cleaner, high-value outputs — from bitumen and base oils to carbon black and petrochemical intermediates.
