Our keynote speakers for the year 2024 have been announced!
Ms. Zarankin, a Toronto-based writer and cultural tour guide who has won numerous awards, is also a lecturer. Her book, Field Notes From an Unintentional Birder is a Canadian Bestseller. Her writings have appeared in Audubon Magazine, Birding Magazine and Canadian Geographic. Julia gives lectures in Toronto and the surrounding areas to lifelong learners when she is not spotting shorebirds with a scope in sewage lagoons.

Birding is not just about seeing the most birds possible. Birding can teach us a lot about living a good and fulfilling life, as well as how to become a better person. Birding not only helped Julia become more present but also taught her to view the world more nuanced and with empathy.
