Science and Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH) 2027
The Science and Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH) is the regional science and engineering fair serving Houston-area schools. The official 2027 student schedule is published on the General Information page.
Fair dates (on-site)
- Project check-in: 12 February 2027, 14:00–19:00
- Opening ceremony: 13 February 2027, 08:30–09:00 (students should arrive by 08:15)
- Judging begins: 13 February 2027, 09:10
- Awards ceremony: 13 February 2027, 19:00–21:30 (open to all)

Key deadlines
- Registration in STEM Wizard opens September 2026. SEFH Seminar: 19 September 2026.
- Schools and students should begin registration no later than 1 December 2026.
- Project finalization and advancement, plus SRC submission via STEM Wizard: 20 January 2027, 17:00.
- SRC finalization (projects cleared to compete): 2 February 2027, 17:00.
- Writing contest and poster contest: 22 January 2027, 17:00.

Registration and rules
All registration is completed online through STEM Wizard. Junior Division forms have been consolidated; forms and signatures are electronic via STEM Wizard’s Paperless Files and Forms. Project board maximum height at SEFH and TXSEF is 64.4 inches (163.8 cm).
