Springdale is Arkansas' fourth-largest municipality, United States. It can be found in Northwest Arkansas's Washington and Benton counties. Springdale, located on the Springfield Plateau deep within the Ozark Mountains has been an important industrial center for the region since long. [7] The city houses Tyson Foods' headquarters, which is the largest meat-producing company in the world. [8] The original name of the city was Shiloh. However, it changed its name to Springdale in 1872 when it applied for a postal office. According to the United States Census Bureau, the four-county Northwest Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area ranks 109th in America in terms of its population with 463,204 people in 2010. According to the 2010 Census, the city had a population numbering 69 797. [9]

Recent years have seen a rapid increase in the population of Springdale, as evidenced by a 133% increase in population between 1990 and 2010. The city saw the opening of the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History and the creation of Northwest Arkansas Community College's Springdale campus. Also, the Northwest Arkansas Naturals minor-league baseball team moved into Arvest Baseball Park. Tyson is still the city's largest employer and can be seen throughout the city. The Tyson name is prominently displayed in many public places, including the Randal Tyson Recreational Complex and Don Tyson Parkway. Governor Mike Beebe signed a law that recognized Springdale as the \"Poultry Capital Of The World\" for 2013. [1][2]
