The Southport Corridor in Chicago is one of the most popular commercial strips, thanks to its unique mix of shops, boutiques, and restaurants.
The annual food and musical event in August will put the taco back on the map. In 2024, the festival will be celebrating its 11th year of flavorful food and music. It's also an opportunity to celebrate seasonal beer as well as cooler evenings.
This fall festival is a popular event in the food scene of Chicago. Whether you prefer your shells stuffed with chicken, steak or beef, or with other ingredients like mushrooms, seafood, duck and goat, it's a great way to experience the city. More than 10 local restaurants compete to create the best tacos.
There are also two music stages and Mexican wrestlers who will please the crowd. Visitors can also text vote on Chicago's "Best Taco.".
A suggested $10 donation will benefit the Friends of Lakeview.
Tuco & BlondieLakeview Taco Fest would not be Taco Fest if Tuco & Blondie weren't there. They are a great addition to the festival because of their Southport roots, and they have a unique take on tacos. Check out their beef, steak and chicken tinga tacos, but don't forget to try their crispy cauliflower tacos with cilantro lime crema, jicama salsa, chipotle aioli, and jicama.

Fahim and Faraz were known by their friends as generous and delicious cooks. Their mother, who used the finest ingredients and implemented the oldest techniques, was the only one to be able meet and surpass their father's culinary standards. Fahim and Faraz were inspired by their mother's delicious stews and their father's deep marinating of Halal meats, charred according to traditional methods. You will be amazed at how they have transformed these flavors into delicious tacos!
