Construction Myanmar 2023 & Building Materials Myanmar 2020 is Myanmar's largest Building & Construction Event. It will bring together international building and construction companies and contractors, as well as property developers, architects, and their supporting industries in Yangon, to show off the latest developments within the building and Construction industry.
The value of the Myanmar construction industry increased at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 11.48 % during the period under review (2007-2011). The country's improved political stability, the increasing number of opportunities for investment in energy and infrastructure projects, as well as rapid foreign direct investment inflows from Vietnam, Thailand China, Singapore, and Malaysia, all contributed to this growth. Timetric's report, "Construction In Myanmar - Trends And Opportunities To 2016", shows that the commercial construction market grew at a CAGR between 2008 and 2016. The leisure and hospitality, and office building categories accounted for 67.2% in 2011 of the value of the commercial construction. In addition, as the 2013 Southeast Asian Games and 2014 Asian Summit are being held in Myanmar, demand for hotels and land in cities like Yangon has begun to rise in preparation for an anticipated influx of tourists and foreign investors. Timetric predicts that the commercial construction market is expected to register a CAGR between 8.01% and 8.13% over the forecast period. Over the forecast period, tourism will have a significant impact on the commercial construction in Myanmar.
