The Gem & Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches is a rewarding, educational and exciting hobby. www.gemandmineralsociety.org.<br/ >The Society held a weekend show in November at the South Florida Fairgrounds/Expo Center East, 9067 Southern Blvd. West Palm Beach, where over eighty vendors showcased their products to an unprecedented number of visitors.<br/ >This club will introduce you to a fascinating world of minerals, gemstones, fossils and rocks. You'll also learn more about the organization, its members and how they work tirelessly to make it possible. This club offers a wide range of activities, whether you want to learn to cut or collect gemstones or learn more about minerals. You can even learn to make jewelry.<br/ >Arlene Lazzaro, Society President, said, "We are thrilled with the response to our 54th annual Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show." "After cancelling our exhibit due to Covid last year, the support we received from the vendors and public this year was overwhelming!<br/ >The 'Last Chance Mine,' which allows visitors to break and mine geodes and even take part in the mining process, was a big hit with both young and old.<br/ >"Many thanks to all of the volunteers who made the show a great success."<br/ >Jenny Wright, Treasurer, said, "As non-profit organization, we depend on the income from this show." It allows us to provide monthly club meetings and fun events; lectures, fieldtrips, and scholarships for mineralogical studies to college students.
