New York International Music Festival | World Projects

New York International Music Festival Individual Accounts >>.

We thank you for choosing the New York International Music Festival to be your music tour. We will invite all performing ensembles to participate due to the success of previous years. This allows entire music departments to experience the thrill of performing at a world-class facility together.

Our mission is to provide young musicians an opportunity for musical development while creating lasting memories. The festival will be held at the prestigious Carnegie Hall to enhance the experience. The festival accepts only auditioned groups from high schools and two university showcase ensembles. We encourage groups with varying levels of ability to apply, as live performances can benefit students at all stages of development.

Ensembles: Community, high school, and college bands, choirs, and orchestras.

Acceptance: To ensure quality, the festival limits its participation to four adjudicated groups and one showcase group from a university or community. The groups that were denied entry due to festival capacity, will receive first priority the following year.

VENUES : Carnegie Hall, Outdoor venue like the Central Park Bandshell and Castle Clinton in Battery Park.

The Festival's artistic director is Dr. Lawrence Sutherland. The past instrumental faculty included Dr. Lawrence Sutherland, Professor Emeritus, from California State University Fresno, Mr. Brian Worsdale of Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras, Felix Hauswirth of the Youth Wind Ensemble of Baden Wurttemberg in Switzerland, and Dr. Glenn Price of California Institute of Technology.
