Cuba has a rich cultural heritage and is home to a diverse range of species. A new bilingual exhibit at the Exploreum offers visitors a unique look into this island nation, located just 94 miles away from Florida. Cuba! explores Cuba's natural history including its diverse ecosystems and geology. Cuban history, culture, and voices of the present day are also explored to give a fresh perspective on this dynamic nation. The American Museum of Natural History, New York, is the organizer of!Cuba. The exhibition will run until July 27, 2024.

Cuba, a technically an archipelago consisting of over 4,000 islands and keyes, is the largest Caribbean island nation. It's also one of the most diversely ecologically diverse nations in the region. Around 50 percent of the plants and 32 per cent of its vertebrate animal species are endemic. This means that they can only be found on Cuba. The exhibit will feature live animals, specimens and lifelike model representations of the island's unique wildlife. These include a venomous animal to the smallest bird in the world. The American Museum of Natural History developed the biodiversity exhibits in collaboration with scientists from the Cuban National Museum of Natural History. Highlights include the re-creation the Zapata Wetlands, which is home to the endangered Cuban Crocodile. Also, a reconstructed cavern environment.
