The Brisbane Showgrounds, a historic event and lifestyle precinct, is located 1.5 km from the CBD.
It is home to the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC), a state-of-the art Rydges Hotel, vibrant King Street dining and retail center making it a highly sought-after destination for events.
Brisbane Showgrounds has the best indoor and outdoor venues for any occasion, whether it is a small gathering of 20 or a large event for 25,000.
More than 250 events, which host a total 1 million people, are held at the Showgrounds every year. This includes the largest Queensland event, the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).
The 145-year-old Brisbane Showgrounds is continually improving and evolving, just like all major events precincts. The RNA's $2.9billion Brisbane Showgrounds Regeneration Project Stage 3 is in progress and has already made the precinct a year-round destination for the community. The Brisbane Showgrounds are owned and operated entirely by the RNA. Their core charter is to promote and celebrate the vital role that agriculture plays in Queenslanders' daily lives. This charter receives all revenue.
This year's Bridge to Brisbane celebrated its 25th Anniversary. Runners crossed the Gateway Bridge and reached the Brisbane Showgrounds finish line. Jemma Coutts, our very own Jemma, ran the entire 10 km course to raise money for Women's Legal Service Inc.
