A memorandum of agreement (MOU), has been signed between the City of Colorado Springs (City Auditorium) and the Colorado Springs Community Cultural Collective (CSCCC). This newly formed 501c3 non-profit organization was chosen by the City to manage, operate and maintain the entire building. CSCCC's final award agreement is still pending completion of a due diligence phase that will run at least until March 1, 2023. The Cultural Collective website has information on renting the City Auditorium.

Other City-owned indoor facilities available for the public to rent for events include the Deerfield Hills, Hillside, Meadows Park and Westside community centers and the Beach House at Prospect Lake in Memorial Park.

The City felt that 2018 was the right year to issue a Request for Propsal (RFP) in order to attract qualified organizations who are interested in forming partnerships or agreements for full use of the City Auditorium. The City saw a renovated and revitalized facility as an important asset for downtown. Respondents were encouraged to submit proposals that balance creativity with financial feasibility.

After extensive review and a pause in the COVID-19 pandemic, the City ranked the proposal submitted to it by the Colorado Springs Community Cultural Collective (CSCCC). CSCCC identified a need for smaller cultural organizations that are in search of mid-sized venues and creative workspaces. This gap could be filled by a revitalized City Auditorium. The CSCCC proposal calls for significant renovations and repairs to the building, as well as improvements and expansions of its functionality in order to make it a more attractive venue for arts, culture, education, and community events.
