On November 11, 2008, the Cleveland County Veteran's Memorial received its dedication. It is located at the Southwest corner Reaves Park near the Kidspace Playground at 2501 Jenkins Avenue. This memorial is dedicated to all the brave men and women of Cleveland County that have served the United States of America and State of Oklahoma in military service. A granite plaza with a star-shaped five-pointed star measures approximately 30 feet in diameter. Each point on the star represents an American Armed Forces branch. The star's center is a large granite pentagon, topped with a bronze eagle. The names of all those who have died in the service of our country are displayed on the walls around the centerpiece. All other Veterans' names are displayed on small granite tablets that surround the plaza.
Names continue to be added to the memorial. Every man and woman with a tie to Cleveland County who has, or is still serving our country's armed forces are eligible to be included on the memorial.
