Carp Hunting Competitions in Denizli Raising Awareness24/10/202320 Denizli, Aegean Region, GENERAL, TURKIYE, LifeCarp Hunting Competitions in Denizli Raising AwarenessIn cooperation with Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Denizli Amateur and Sport Anglers Association, a carp fishing contest was organized with the goal of raising awareness and promoting sustainable hunting. Osman Zolan, who shared the excitement of the fisherman, drew the attention of hunters and aquatic life to the importance of conscious hunting.Casting fishing rods for sustainable huntingIn cooperation with Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Denizli Amateur and Sport Anglers Association, (DENOLDER), a carp fishing contest was organized to raise awareness about sustainable fishing and to protect aquatic life. The competition for "Biggest Carp", "Most Carp", and "Most Carps" took place in Gokpinar Dam Lake. In 14 categories, 35 sport fisherman from different cities in Turkey competed. The competition did not evaluate fish under 40 centimeters, but those over this limit were returned to the water once they were weighed and measured. The award ceremony took place after the four-day fishing competition. Mustafa Yalcin, DENOLDER's President, said in his speech during the award ceremony that they fight for sustainable hunting, and "we are trying to instill these hobbies in young generations." We encourage hunters to hunt within the limits set by the government so that fish are not depleted and can be preserved for future generations. He said, "We're trying to increase people's awareness."Hunting is dangerous.Denizli Metropolitan Municipality mayor Osman Zolan said that they were happy to organize an organization of this kind and stated, "Fishing brings you to another dimension, you are alone and with nature." Osman Zolan, the Mayor of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, said that the competition was held to draw attention to the importance for aquatic life protection and responsible hunting. God bless us with the strength to continue. He said, "I congratulate all of you and wish you success." Mayor Zolan presented the awards to the winners after the speeches. Huseyin Yildirim from Yildirim Carp Team, Ahmet can Yildirim and Yusuf Aslan; the team that caught the biggest fish.
