HomeDORTMUND (GERMANY) -- The second annual European Bamboo Expo 2024 is scheduled to take place from May 16 through 18, 2024 in Dortmund. It will highlight the role that bamboo plays in the circular economy with a special focus on the food and construction industries. The Expo organizers plan to host more than 60 international speakers, exhibitors, and welcome hundreds of visitors from the trade to demonstrate bamboo's versatility as a renewable product in architecture, textiles and agriculture.Iraklis Kalamenios, the expo's organizer (Weproductions), says that by highlighting bamboo's remarkable ability to revitalize degraded land while creating ample opportunities for investors and the agricultural sector in European crops we can help drive innovation in the circular economic system. Bamboo is a natural fit for the circular economy, as it's a renewable, sustainable resource with incredibly high CO2 storage capabilities. It can actively contribute to the fight against climate change.The expo this year builds on last year's success, which attracted more than 300 speakers and exhibitors from around the globe. It provided companies with an opportunity to showcase their newest products, technologies and services for customers, government agencies, and potential business partners. The attendees were able to learn about the newest trends in the global industry of bamboo and explore new opportunities for product development, research and investment on the European market. Last year's event also showcased sustainable architecture created with bamboo, a topic that this year's expo will replicate, as well as the strong emphasis on public engagement--attracting locals and consumers, as well as architects, builders, decision-makers, and industry stakeholders. The European Bamboo Expo is being held for the second time in Dortmund.
