The oldest society in existence was founded in 1772. The Vale Show moved to Penllyn last year, marking the start of a new exciting era. The Vale Show is always held on the third Wednesday of August and attracts more than 20,000 visitors from both town and country. The Show, which has been growing over the years, is now the biggest one-day event in the Vale of Glamorgan. More than 200 trade stands are on the field, selling and marketing a wide range of products.
The Food Court, which sells produce that is grown or produced in the Vale and a Shopping Mall, which allows small traders the opportunity to exhibit, are located in the middle of the field. The Show includes a large Craft Fair, Horticultural Show, Home Produce Marquee, Rabbit Show, Dog Show and Countryside Marquee.
More than 200 trade stands are located on the field, which sell a wide range of products. In the middle of the field, a Food Hall sells produce that is mostly grown or produced in the Vale. A Shopping Mall allows small traders the opportunity to exhibit. A large Craft Fair, Horticultural Show and Home Produce marquee are all part of the Show. On one side of this field, there is a KC Registered Dog Show. Cattle and Sheep Classes are held in a paddock at the castle end. Horse classes are held in the main ring between 6.30am and 3pm. At that time, there is an impressive Grand Parade of the prize-winning animals. The Show ends at 5.30pm with the Scurry Competition.
