In 1981, Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance founded Oktoberfest Fredericksburg to support local art projects. PCAA gives out grants and scholarships each year to Gillespie County residents who wish to pursue a university degree in the arts. They also host the annual Marktplatz Musical Evenings to say "Danke Schon!" to the community.
