The Maine Mineralogical & Geological Society, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to all aspects of education and culture in geology and mineralogy. It also promotes lapidary arts as well as other related topics.
From September to May, the third Saturday of every month is reserved for family-oriented events.
The meetings start at 6:30 pm and feature a presentation on various aspects of rock and minerals collecting.
Families include spouses and children under 18 in the same household.
The youth program is free for all family members of MMGS and includes separate meetings, field trips, and other activities for the children. We are currently not running the program, but hope to do so soon.

Come and join us! All members are welcome to attend the E-Board Meetings, which are held on the THIRD SUNDAY of every meeting month at 5pm (same location). Attendance is open to all members.
Location of the meeting: Payson Smith hall, room 41 (ground level) on USM's campus. The parking lot is located on the right hand side of the building when you enter from Falmouth Street, or the street directly in front. Enter the double doors and descend the stairs. We are in the last class on the left.
