The 13th Kansas Book Festival, organized by Washburn University's Washburn Library, will be held at Washburn University on Saturday, September 28, 2024. We will announce the new program in late spring 2024. If you would like to know what happened in 2023 click here.
The Festival of 2024 will feature another incredible lineup of 50 authors including NYTimes Bestsellers, and national book award winners. The authors will present fiction, nonfiction and poetry as well as children's literature. The festival will feature outdoor performances, an exhibit of book art, food trucks and tents with 35 publishers and authors.
All events at the Kansas Book Festival are free and open to all. A number of performances and presentations are targeted at children! We host, for example, the Kansas Authors Club's youth awards, a high-school poetry slam and a presentation from the Bill Martin Jr Picture Book Award winner. In partnership with Kansas Children's Discovery Center and Paper June Bookstore, we also offer outdoor activities for children. Join the fun today!
