The Harrogate International Youth Festival offers an exciting opportunity to perform and meet with ensembles from all over the world.
The Festival program includes six nights of performances and five full days, plus meals, transportation and local excursions. Many groups extend their itinerary to explore more of the UK.
We Crazy Hoppers from Switzerland had a wonderful time at the Harrogate International Youth Festival. The performances at the various locations were exciting and fascinating. We could perform in the Royal Hall Garden, the Newby Hall Garden, and the St. James' Church. We once gave a small concert on the square in York. Highlights of our trip were two concerts at the Royal Hall. The light show was a very special experience for us. It gave us a new perspective on our performance. Staff members met all of our requests and made us comfortable on stage. On Sunday, the audience asked for an encore only from Crazies. It was an incredible honour that we never expected.
In a local boarding-school, we were provided with comfortable triple rooms that included a private bathroom and shower. We felt very comfortable in our room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were excited by the encounters we had with participants from around the world, such as at the rehearsals and concert with the Massed Band. We had fun despite occasional language barriers. Harrogate was a beautiful town and we took advantage of every moment we had to explore it.Our team spirit has been greatly strengthened by the preparation and participation in the HIYF. The HIYF broadened our horizons and allowed us to gain new experiences. This event will remain in our minds for a very long time.
