Vlissingen hosts the "Whisky by the Sea" festival every year. The event includes a whiskey tasting with over 500 whiskeys. Importers of whiskey gather here to introduce their products to interested visitors or to share deeper secrets with the more experienced crowd. Master classes are smaller group tastings where an expert explains the flavor, distillation process, or origin. There are a few stands in the Arsenaal Theatre that sell whiskey-related products such as books, magazines, and clothing.
